Steered by Chief Arborist and Tree Surgeon Matthew Steele, the team consists of what it needs to be for the particular job, but the main crew members are profiled below…
Matthew Steele, owner and founder of Bicester Tree Services. His passion is arboriculture, he does what he loves and he loves what he does! Matt has an interest in trees and the environment, and after completing a degree in arboriculture and two horticultural diplomas, he began his journey in the arboricultural industry over fifteen years ago. Previous employers include RHS Wisley, Westonbirt Arboretum and Nicholsons of North Aston. During his career he has worked his way up to the top, from chipper operator to removing the largest and most technically demanding trees and managing large contracts. In his previous employment as Arboricultural Manager at Nicholsons, Matt was solely responsible for securing sufficient work to employ five full time direct labour tree surgeons and utilising additional sub contract labour as required to increase turnover and maintain an effective lead time. After becoming a father of two, Matt decided that it was time to run his own company to give him a greater flexibility in work pattern so as to spend more quality time with his family. Matt's wealth of experience and knowledge resulted in him becoming Lantra Level 2 trained in Professional Tree Inspections, which means that he is now able to provide reports for various reasons such as insurance validation.
In between school runs and being a taxi service for after-school clubs, Julia manages the day to day running of the business so that Matt can concentrate on what he loves best - trees!
Matthew joined our team after wanting to find a career he could become passionate about. Matthew is fast becoming a competent climber and is looking forward to learning the ropes.
